THE GOLFCHECK FIELD GUIDE
How to film your golf swing
A clear view makes a useful review. Start with these simple camera habits.
Keep your whole swing in frame
Use a steady phone at roughly hand height. Leave enough space above your head and around your body for the club and your finish. Avoid filming into direct sunlight.
Choose one clear angle
Film face-on, perpendicular to your target line, or down the line with the camera aligned behind your hands. Avoid a diagonal view when a clean face-on or down-the-line view is possible.
Record one swing
Include your setup, the entire swing and a moment of your balanced finish. Select a clip between 1.5 and 20 seconds. Keep the original video under 35 seconds.
Keep your next recording comparable
Use the same club and camera position when reviewing another session. Changes in camera position can change two-dimensional measurements.
